Building automation & control
Certified building automation expertise
Factory certified and manufacturer authorized across the leading building automation platforms — credentials most regional contractors can't match, qualifying Salmon Mechanical for intelligent building projects others can't bid on.

Connect any VRF or split system — from any manufacturer — into your building's automation infrastructure. No proprietary lock-in.
Learn more →What building automation actually does for a facility
A building automation system (BAS) gives you centralized control of HVAC, energy, and comfort across an entire facility — scheduling equipment so it isn't conditioning empty space, surfacing faults before occupants call about them, and giving your team one place to see what the building is doing. Done well, it is the single highest-leverage investment available in an existing commercial building.
Done poorly, it becomes an expensive interface nobody trusts. The difference is almost always the integrator: whether the sequences match how the building is really used, whether the graphics are legible, and whether someone is still maintaining the system three years later.
The platforms we're certified on
Alerton by Honeywell — factory certified
Alerton is Honeywell's flagship building automation platform, purpose-built for intelligent building management with native BACnet support from the controller to the front end. Alerton systems deliver smart HVAC control, energy-efficient scheduling, and facility-wide visibility for schools, offices, healthcare, and data centers. As a factory-certified Alerton contractor we're authorized to install, integrate, and service the full Alerton line — and because Alerton is Niagara compatible, it fits cleanly into mixed-vendor buildings. Tridium / Niagara Framework — Niagara certified
Tridium develops the Niagara Framework®, the industry's most widely deployed open software platform for connecting and controlling building devices regardless of manufacturer or protocol. Niagara unifies HVAC, lighting, metering, and security data into a single supervisory interface — from JACE controllers at the edge to enterprise-wide Niagara Supervisors. We're one of Utah's few authorized Tridium resellers, trained and credentialed to design, deploy, and service Niagara-based systems. Read more about Niagara →
Distech Controls — authorized reseller
Distech builds one of the leading open-protocol automation platforms on the market, with BACnet and IP-native controllers for HVAC, lighting, and room control. The ECLYPSE controller line supports open integration standards over wired IP, Wi-Fi, or both — giving building owners flexibility instead of proprietary lock-in. As an authorized Distech reseller we supply, install, and support the complete Distech ecosystem. Read more about Distech →
CoolAutomation — integration partner
CoolAutomation specializes in bridging VRF and split HVAC systems into building management systems, home automation, and cloud platforms. Its CoolMaster line connects equipment from virtually any manufacturer — Daikin, Mitsubishi, LG, Samsung, and more — into your building's automation infrastructure for centralized control, monitoring, tenant billing, and predictive maintenance. How we help you choose
Contractors who carry one line will always recommend that line. Because we're certified across four, the specification conversation can start with your building instead of our inventory. In practice:
- A new build or major retrofit with a single-vendor mechanical scope often lands on Alerton — deep BACnet capability with a mature operator front end.
- A campus or portfolio that has drifted across several controls vendors is usually best unified on Niagara, which normalizes everything into one supervisory layer without replacing working field controllers.
- A project where IT constraints, wireless retrofit, or open standards drive the decision tends toward Distech's IP-native ECLYPSE line.
- Any building with VRF that needs to talk to the rest of the system gets CoolAutomation as the bridge — frequently alongside one of the three above.
These are not exclusive choices. Most of the buildings we work in run some combination, which is exactly why the multi-platform credential matters.
One partner for the whole intelligent building
Because we're both a full-scope mechanical contractor and a certified controls integrator, we deliver the entire chain — equipment, ductwork, piping, controls, and commissioning — under one contract. Fewer handoffs, tighter accountability, and a building that actually runs the way it was designed to.
